The Extrasensory concert is built around the 20th century’s most acclaimed synesthetic composer and ornithologist Olivier Messiaen (1908-92). This season Jacaranda observes the 25th anniversary of his death, and his 110th birthday, with a program including music by his hero Claude Debussy, his close friend Andre Jolivet, his student Betsy Jolas, and Eric Tanguy, who was a student of a student of Messiaen.
